Beginning DrawingBeginning drawing focuses on basic techniques including perspective and volume shading. A variety of materials (pencil, charcoal, pastel, and ink) are used as they apply to a range of subjects. Students learn to use and recognize the basic art elements and principles to develop compositional skills. Students study famous artists and learn to evaluate their own work and the work of others.

Drawing StylesThrough assigned class projects and investigations of many artists styles, students begin to develop a personal approach to drawing. Students study abstraction, realism, impressionism, expressionism, and other stylistic trends to develop their individual style. Students evaluate their own work and the work of others.

Drawing Portfolio/ A.P.Drawing-Studio/Portfolio class is designed for the serious student to continue development of drawing skills and ideas. In-class experiences include the production and presentation of art. Class experiences include reading and research, gallery attendance and a solo exhibit of each student''s work.
